Department of Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health

The WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region is facing a growing epidemic of noncommunicable diseases, mental, neurological and substance use disorders, affecting millions of people. The WHO Department of Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health works with partners, including government, civil society, academia and the private sector to reduce premature death and disability caused by these diseases and improve mental health and well-being by 2030. With strong political commitment and available resources, there is an opportunity to improve the future by working towards the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
