Pakistan faced one of the worst dengue fever in its history in 2011. The Government of Punjab in close collaboration with WHO convened an International Conference on the control of dengue in Lahore, Pakistan from 27 to 29 February 2012 to document the experience and lessons learned during the this outbreak.

The conference was supported by the communicable disease surveillance, forecasting and response programme to assist the Government of Punjab with concrete recommendations for dengue control in Pakistan.
