Ministry of Public Health of Lebanon and WHO launch the Lebanon Clinical Trials Registry

Minister of Public Health Dr Jamil Jabbak, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), launch the first Lebanese National Registry for Clinical Research in the Arab World, a national and regional achievement in enhancing the transparency of research conducted in Lebanon, which strengthens the credibility of the results. It also enables the Ministry of Public Health to monitor respect for medical and ethical standards in these studies.

The Register contributes to ensuring the highest safety standards for research participants by enabling research companies and researchers to register their studies in Lebanon to be published in the WHO Platform for International Clinical Research Records on Humans. The existence of such a national registry in Lebanon, managed by the Ministry of Public Health, will enhance the chances of increasing the number of clinical researches that can be conducted in Lebanon, putting Lebanon in the ranks of major countries on the map of scientific and medical development, and global achievements as the first of its kind in the Arab world.
