A training course on research in reproductive health of adolescents in the Eastern Mediterranean Region was held in Damascus, Syrian Arab Republic, from 10 to 14 September 2000. It was organized by the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean with the financial support of the Department of Reproductive Health and Research, WHO headquarters, Geneva.
A total of 18 participants from three Member States attended. In addition, the meeting was attended by resource persons, observers and representatives from the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). A report of the meeting has been produced.
