5 May 2012 – A WHO mission on assessing the drug testing quality control laboratory capacity and functioning has found that the knowledge and skills of staff in the quality management system in the laboratory should be improved.
The WHO mission visited Lahore at the request of the Federal and Punjab governments to provide technical support to assess drug testing laboratory capacity and functioning.
The mission sought to map the role and functioning of the drug testing quality control laboratory within the local regulatory framework and to understand the extent to which the present structure is helping to ensure medicines quality in the country.
The mission visited laboratories in Lahore and met with Arif Nadeem, Secretary of Health, Punjab.
