The WHO prequalification programme was launched in 2001, driven by global public health needs, to achieve universal access to quality priority medicines, especially to those in need. On 10 September 2013 a meeting was chaired by the Honorable Minster of State and the Honorable Secretary of the National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination with potential pharmaceutical manufacturers working with WHO on WHO prequalification of medicines/quality control laboratory accreditation held at the WHO country office in Islamabad.
