WHO provides advice on strengthening preconception care

A WHO mission visited Oman from 8 to 12 June 2014 to advice on strengthening the preconception care services provided in Oman. Evidence demonstrates that preconception care interventions contribute to a wide range of improve health and development outcomes. Thus, these services can build on the highly accessible antenatal care services provided which would then improve pregnancy outcomes.

In the long-term, preconception care could contribute to improving the health of babies and children. This mission was jointly supported by WHO and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
