Violence and injury prevention training course, 2–6 March 2013

A 3-day training on the WHO Teach violence and injury prevention (Teach-VIP) course was held from 2 to 4 March 2013. Teach-VIP is a comprehensive injury prevention and control curriculum which provides a broad overview of the fundamentals of injury prevention. This training of master trainers focused on guiding each trainee on how to develop a plan to conduct Teach-VIP trainings in their own region using the WHO Teach-VIP training materials. Participants were also encouraged to apply for the MENTOR-VIP programme which is an opportunity to network with global injury prevention experts. In addition, a meeting was held a few weeks later to discuss the incorporation of violence and injury prevention modules into the medical, nursing and allied health professional training curricula in Oman.
