collaboration

10 March 2021 – On 8 March 2021, Dr Jean Jabbour, WHO Representative in Oman, visited HRH Dr Mona Al-Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, International Cooperation, at Sultan Qaboos University to discuss WHO's work in Oman and opportunities to share these success stories with other countries in the Region, with a focus on 3 areas of collaboration, namely familial hypercholesterolaemia, genome sequencing and medical research.

Dr Al-Said expressed her support for the collaboration and requested that Oman be linked with other countries in the Region and the world that have the same concerns and challenges.

Dr Jabbour noted that Oman's expertise would be of support to many countries, and through its consultants, researchers and other experts, it could provide a role model for the entire world.

The discussion was followed by a technical meeting at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences to meet the leading experts in Oman in genetics, biochemistry, microbiology and scientific research.
