A WHO mission to assist in developing a framework for scaling up private public mix (PPM) in the workplace to support national efforts to control tuberculosis took place from 15 to 19 December 2013. The mission recognized good progress in the development of the PPM approach since the last PPM-related WHO mission including the establishment of regional focal points and development of national guidelines.
The PPM approach in Oman is designed to address non-nationals since many of the reported TB cases in Oman are among this group. This approach can improve early diagnosis and treatment among both nationals and non-nationals and thus reduce TB transmission in the community.
