A WHO mission to assist the national team in developing the core curriculum for allied health professionals took place during the first week of November 2013.
Currently the Ministry of Health offers degrees for allied health professionals such as nursing, medical laboratory, medical imaging, physiotherapy, oral and dental health, pharmacy, and health information management.
The plans to transition from diploma level to a Bachelor degree involves identifying and developing a core curriculum for all allied health disciplines, particularly related to generic competencies. This mission follows an earlier mission which helped guide the Ministry of Health in their plans to consolidate all their educational and training institutes into a College of Allied Health Sciences.
