Tip of the week | Meditate and reflect

We are back for the fourth week to share with you some more pointers and resources to help you care for your mental health and wellbeing for the remainder of Ramadan and beyond. Last week, we focused on practicing self-restraint. This week is all about reflection, meditation and self-fulfillment. Stay tuned for our final Eid message on gratitude and hope next week.

Meditate and reflect this Ramadan

Ramadan is a time to meditate, pray and reflect. During this COVID-19 pandemic, meditation, prayers and reflection can help you relax and stay grounded, and support others in doing the same.

Here are some pointers for you on meditation, prayers and reflection.

Meditate and pray

Meditation and prayers can help you stay calm and grounded, enabling you to better cope with stress and emotions of sadness, confusion, fear or anger. Keep up meditation and prayers for the remainder of Ramadan and beyond to keep yourself relaxed and grounded. You can also try some breathing and grounding exercises from our illustrated guide, “Doing what matters in times of stress”.

Reflect on yourself and your surroundings

Make a mental note of the thoughts and habits that affect your mental health and wellbeing, and work on changing them. Tap into your strengths and apply skills you used in the past to get through the current challenging times. Remember: you are more resilient than you think.

Take a step back

Take a look inwards and reconnect with yourself. The noise in our daily lives coupled with the many COVID-19 unknowns and questions can often lead us to lose sight of things which we hold important. So take some time during this continuing pandemic to reconnect with yourself and values you cherish, as this can help you achieve inner peace, balance and self-fulfillment.
