Life saving kits and supplies handed over to Sirte and other hospitals

A room full of boxes of WHO suppliesOne trauma kit is sufficient for 100 major surgical procedures. UNSMIL.25 April 2017 – On 19 April, WHO supplied 13 trauma kits and 14 incubators to hospitals in Sirte, Bani Walid, Tripoli, Zliten, Assabia, El Khadra and Benghazi. One trauma kit is sufficient for 100 major surgical procedures and each kit contains all essential trauma care supplies and medicines.

This support is part of WHO’s effort to maintain the supply chain of life-saving medicines and supplies intact. WHO thanks the European Commission's Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO) for providing funds for these supplies and the batch of subsequent medical supplies that are in the pipeline through ECHO support.
