Kuwait donates US$ 4.6 million for measles campaign targeting over 900 000 children

23 December 2019 Many thanks to the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development for the generous donation of US$ 4.6 million in support of the national campaign that aims to halt measles transmission in Lebanon.

The first phase of the immunization campaign is ongoing until 31 December 2019 and is targeting over 300 000 children, covering Akkar, North and Baalbeck-Hermel governorates.

The Ministry of Public Health, in partnership with the WHO Lebanon country office and UNICEF Lebanon, will carry out the second phase planned for first quarter of 2020 that will target the rest of Lebanon so that no child is left behind.
