Coordinate national efforts towards achieving UHC
WCO in collaboration with Ministry of Health is working closely with national stakeholders to coproduce and endorse a national UHC/Health security roadmap that translates the national health priority within Jordan Economic Modernization Vision 2022-2033 towards achieving UHC.
Support updating the UHC Benefit package
WCO together with the National authorities have been diligently working on revising the existing UHC Benefit Package taking into consideration the burden of disease and the available resources.
Promoting governance functions within the health sector
WCO is putting lots of emphasis on the leadership role of Ministry of Health (MoH) in the health sector, in this sense WCO continues to provide technical guidance and assistance to build the institutional capacities of MoH which is clearly reflected in the support provided to develop MoH strategy 2023-2025 and the Leadership and Governance Training Programme
Provide policy options to strengthen Human Resources for Health in Jordan
WCO is supporting the Health Labor Market Analysis that will help to identify the mismatches between demand and supply on health workforce thus support designing of effective polices.
Support the provision of integrated quality health care services
WCO is persistently guiding the delivery of quality healthcare services at both Primary Healthcare and hospital levels through supporting the roll out of the Regional Family Medicine Diploma, implementing the Patient Safety Friendly Hospital Framework, and supporting the Emergency Care System in addition to the operationalization of priority interventions that are. in line with the MoH Rehabilitation Strategic Plan (2020-2024).
Assist improving public health sector's main financing functions
WCO Jordan is supporting the development of the health financing strategy towards achieving UHC through designing and implementing health financing strategies and interventions which respond to contextual needs and priorities based on the national health accounts.
Support improving access to pharmaceuticals and health technologies
WCO is keen on strengthening MoH supply chain system, building the institutional capacities of the Drug Regulatory Authorities and strengthening the National Pharmacovigilance (PV) System.
Strengthen routine Health Information Systems and digital health ecosystem
WCO has put emphasis on strengthening routine health information systems, improving Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS), supporting regular reporting on WHO core indicators, supporting data integration, linkages and interoperable solutions for health, assisting in governance and use of digital solutions for public health, disease surveillance and response and promoting data standards and data use and visualization.
