The information systems programme has been created to improve the use of information systems as a guide and resource for health care professionals. This has included the creation of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD 10) system that allows its users to access up-to-date and relevant information regarding specific diseases. Similarly, the programme has instigated the creation of a database that includes updated information on Jordan’s morbidity and mortality rates.
The WHO's Representative Office in Jordan is also part of a multisectoral committee, including the Ministry of Health, nongovernmental organizations, community-based organizations, and UN bodies, created to identify the national priorities in health system research. This is headed by the UN Secretary General.
