WHO Representative in Jordan Dr Jamela Al-Raiby said, “WHO is grateful for the generous support provided by KOICA and proud by what has been achieved in the battle against AMR.”
In partnership with World Health Organization, KOICA has extended support to the development of the Global Antimicrobial Resistance and Use Surveillance System (GLASS) in 4 countries, including Jordan, through establishing and strengthening the national AMR reference laboratory capacities.
Diligently and in spite of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Health and WHO at the 3 levels of the Organization together with KOICA have continued to mobilize national efforts towards achieving the goals of the project. 40 surveillance sites all over Jordan representing public, private and teaching hospitals, are currently reporting epidemiological, laboratory and clinical data to GLASS.
WHO will continue to support the AMR national multisectoral stakeholders to implement and monitor the progress of the AMR national action plan under a One Health approach.
