Writing a Journal Article and Getting it Published
Medical journal publishing
WHO supported regional training of trainers courses on medical journal publishing in 2009 and 2011. The overall objective of the courses was to promote the standards of scientific papers and biomedical journals in the Region. The specific objectives were to:
Train in-country trainers on all aspects of medical journal publishing
Enable trainers to help editors set goals and establish a vision for their journals
Outline the roles and responsibilities of the editor(s) of a journal, the reviewers and technical editors, and the process of review
Outline the production process and enable editors to set policies and standards for journals
Trainers are expected to conduct at least one course in their country in the 12 months following the training, using the materials developed for the course.

Writing a journal article and getting it published
WHO supported a regional training of trainers course on writing a journal article and getting it published in 2008. Nine nationals from nine countries in the Region were trained and licensed to deliver this internationally known course devised by UK consultant Tim Albert.
