In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population, Who country office Egypt participated in a Scientific Day, in a celebration of Hand Hygiene day 2018 at Om Elmasreen hospital, on 5 May 2018.
With the presence of Dr Abdul Rahman Mahdi, Hopital Director of Om Elmasreen Hospital, Dr Ashraf Nasr Aletreby, General Director of General Directorate of Fever hospital, Dr Hana Anwar Abdel Elhalim, General Manager of Infection Control Department, MOHP, besides hospital doctors and nurses, who participated in the celebration day.
During the scientific day, Dr Omar ABou ElAtta, the responsible technical officer of preparedness surveillance and response, from WHO/Egypt presented a short orientation about the role of Hand Hygiene in prevention and controlling of hospital acquired infection.
In the same context, WHO country office Egypt in collaboration with Central infection control, in Ain Shams University, organized a Sport Day on 4 May 2018, as a celebration of the World Hand Hygiene Day 2018, under the theme “Prevent Sepsis in Health Care”.
With the presence of different representatives such as: Dr Mahmoud Elmetany, Dean of Ain Shams, Medical school, and doctors and nurses and some oncology patients, and Dr Omar ABou Elatta from WHO/Egypt, besides the Egyptian singer, Mohamed Tharwat, the sport day started by distributing the t-shirts and bikes on the participants and the cycling ride goes for one hour.
After finishing the marathon, the participants and invitees returned to the medical school in Ain shams where a short scientific orientation took place, followed by a football match and a distribution of the medals to the winners who played on the football match.
