About the programme
Mission
The mission of the AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases programme is to reverse the HIV epidemic, control STIs and improve the health of people living with HIV through universal coverage of affected populations with evidence-based prevention, care and treatment interventions.
The programme encompasses developing knowledge about the dynamics of the epidemics, addressing the needs of those affected through evidence-based interventions and an enabling environment, ensuring the availability of resources, building capacities and promoting country ownership.
